With
Halloween approaching, it’s a good time to revisit some of our favorite
Halloween-themed movies. People often think about horror or scary movies for
Halloween, but there are some that are comedies and animation.
If
you are looking for a few different ones to watch with the whole family or a
few just for the adults, there are certainly plenty to choose from. Here are a

John
Carpenter started this franchise in 1978 and it still continues today. Revisit
Michael Myers as he escapes the mental asylum and goes on a killing spree that
still continues today. There is a finale scheduled for 2022, so why not catch
up on these classics?

The Nightmare Before Christmas
Tim
Burton's masterpiece is a fun movie for the whole family. Visually spectacular,
it offers up music, fantasy, adventure, suspense and is beautiful to watch. It
combines Halloween and Christmas, to cover all the bases.

Scream
This
is another great series of movies spanning over several years. Director Wes
Craven has a great reputation for horror and slasher films and these do not
disappoint. Follow along with Ghostface and the regular team of characters and
enjoy suspense, wit, and very clever.

Friday The 13th
What
could go wrong when a bunch of camp counselors tries to reopen a camp where
young Jason drowned? Camp Crystal Lakes will never be the same as Jason seeks
revenge throughout the entire franchise. These are some of the most popular
series of horror and Halloween favorites to this day.

E.T,
The Extra-Terrestrial is one of the best and most heart-warming movies for the
whole family. Steven Spielberg’s fantastic story of a young boy named Elliot
who befriends the strange and wondrous alien.

Poltergeist
Based
on a short story from Steven Spielberg, this movie was lauded for the special
effects. They don’t seem like much by today’s standards, but the possession of
the youngest daughter Carol Ann, and the bizarre and fantastic events that
follow will still give the whole family a thrill.

Coraline
Coraline
is based on Neil Gaiman's short novel that sees a young girl befriending a
young boy with a black cat in an old spooky mansion that is cut up into smaller
apartments. She discovers other worlds with other friends and many adventures.
Beautifully animated and a great story for the whole family.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie
Brown
It’s
a Peanut’s classic and it should be viewed and enjoyed every year. Peanuts have
a great way of showing the human side of all of us despite the hardships and
the magic that can come when you believe.
8.
Hocus Pocus
This
classic comedic fantasy features Bette Midler as one of the three witches that
are inadvertently resurrected on Halloween night. The witches haven’t been in
society for 300 years, so to say things have changed is putting mildly. Fun,
funny, and everyone goes to bed happy.

Coco
Who
doesn’t love Disney? This beautifully animated Halloween movie tells the story
of young Miguel who dreams of becoming a musician and the lessons he learns
from visiting his long-gone relatives.
10. Sleepy Hollow
Another
gem from Tim Burton, revisit Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. Spooky,
yet beautiful, it’s a great story and great fun for the whole family.
